Braille Scale

In aircraft and armored vehicle scale modeling, Braille scale commonly means 1/72 or 1/76 scale.

The term was coined by the owners of Missing-Lynx web forum in 1998. Other forums have taken a liking to the phrase since then, and incorporated in their own websites.( source Wikipedia)

MT-LB

MT-LB is a multi-purpose, amphibious, tracked armored fighting vehicle developed used in USSR since the 1950s, widely exported. It was built in Kharkiv Tractor plant, and formerly in Poland and Bulgaria

It has a very simple design, a driver and a commander/gunner sit in the front compartment with the engine behind them. A compartment at the rear carry up to 11 persons or a cargo of up to 2T and it can tow 6,5t. A small turret at the front of the vehicle is equipped with a 7.62 mm machine gun.

Many weapon systems have been developed from the IFV version, for anti-aircraft, anti-Tank, engineering, and others specialized purpose. An extended hull has been developed and host an artillery system (122 mm gun) and demining device.

MT-LB in Braille scale

Ace MT-LB  72 122

Among the first kits of the Ace model brand, a real "short run". To my knowledge the first MT-LB available in injection molded plastic and very much welcomed. The kit needs a little work, but allows to make nice models. The weak points are the undercarriage and the tracks. The gluing of the body to the chassis requires some dexterity and putty. A second version of the kit with better quality tracks has been released. The kit is provided with a small photoetch sheet. Unfortunately  sold out, as all the other versions produced. A collector to buy, as soon as ther is an opportunity.

Alex Miniatures A151

It's a resin kit, Very nicely detailed, probably the best on the market while waiting for the release of Modecollect.
Unfortunately it's an expensive kit  and hard to find.

Includes a Photoetch board and towing cables

Available in several versions: With ZSU, with BTR 80 A turret, and a more modern version the MT-LBVM

Modelcollect UA 72090

Promising kit, unfortunately, as far as I know, it has been announced for a long time but has not yet reached the shelves of the stores, even thougth the mold has been already produced

The 2S1 Gvozdika is a Soviet era 122mm self-propelled gun. It resembles the PT-76 but is actually essentially a lengthened version of the MT-LB, the MT-LBu, with a 2A18 howitzer mount

PT-76

The PT-76 is a Soviet era light amphibious tank introduced in 1950s that became the standard reconnaissance tank for the Soviet Army and other Warsaw Pact armed forces. It was widely exported. Its chassis was the basis for a number of other vehicle designs, as the MT-LB, among others
